If you must retain personal information on a networked device, meet the Minimum Security for Networked Devices Standard and/or the Server Security Standard.
Complete this step only if you have retained personal information on the computer. Continue to Step 10 if you removed the personal information from the computer, separated the numbers from the names, replaced digits with fillers, or truncated the numbers.
It is crucial that you work with your local IT staff in completing this step. IT staff may have implemented requirements described in the Standards.
You must ensure that the computer on which you must store personal information meets the Minimum Security for Networked Devices Standard and the Server Security Standard, as applicable. Desktops and laptops must meet the Minimum Security for Networked Devices Standard; servers must meet both standards.
