Information Security GovernanceShared governance is a strong tradition in higher education.  In 2005, the UA’s Shared Governance Review Committee stated that “.  . . The success of the University and the positive morale of the faculty and administration are dependent upon continued use of the collective intelligence of the University community in planning and decision-making."  

The UA Information Security program leverages input from two governance groups, with the understanding that information security needs to be part of the University’s strategic planning process. These governance groups represent the wide range of constituents who are impacted by information security and privacy needs. This includes leaders from business units, academic colleges, technology support departments, and various compliance functions.
