11/7/16 Standard Chartered Bank: Employee Verification

UA Information Security received a phishing email report, where recipients are asked to verify employment and contact information for University employees.  The email originates from United Arab Emirates.

If you receive this email, please delete it from your inbox.  If you responded to this email in any way, please contact your local IT Support or the 24/7 IT Support Center (626-8324) as soon as possible.

Employee Number: [EMPLOYEE INFO REMOVED]

We are acting on behalf of our client Standard Chartered Bank who has instructed/authorized us to recover from your employee [EMPLOYEE NAME REMOVED]
We seek your assistance in recovering the outstanding amount lawfully due and request you to kindly verify with the details provided and reply back to us with confirmation of the details. We request you for maintaining of confidentiality, as we do not intend to harm your firm’s or any employee’s reputation.
If the details are correctly verified, please provide us with his/her contact number, personal email address, duty time and location, residence address and contact numbers, which could be of help to us in reaching him/ her.
Kindly confirm if the employee was eligible for ‘END OF SERVICE BENEFITS’ & if employee was eligible, was the EOSB transferred to the employees account.
