8/8/14 Accepting Applications for Student Membership

UA Information Security received a spam report this afternoon for an honor society membership application (Bloomsbury Honor Society). The original email is dated 7/21/14.  The Association of College Honor Societies (ACHS) has an information alert on its website regarding this organization, stating that it does not meet ACHS standards.

UA Information Security received a phishing report this afternoon, asking the recipient to click on a link in order to cleanup his/her mailbox quota.  This email is similar to several we have seen in the last few days.

UA Information Security received a phishing email report asking the user to review a document and click on a link in the email. 

8/8/14 Unauthorized Use of Your Identity

UA Information Security received a phishing email report warning the user that his or her social security number has been misused and identity stolen. It then asks the user to click on a link in the email.
